Sightings 29/4/16

Good numbers of Common Sandpiper at the lakes today.

Chipping Sodbury:
Common: 1 Whinchat, 1 Redstart, 1 Reed Bunting.

Oldbury Power Station:
Lagoon 3 & environs morning: 1 Mute Swan pair nesting, 9 Tufted Duck, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cuckoo, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 singing Skylark, 8 Swallow, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 4 Chiffchaff, 9 Blackcap, 3 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Sedge Warbler, 1 Greenfinch,  1 Reed Bunting.
L3 evening: 2 Short-eared Owl.
L1&2 evening: 1 Short-eared Owl.

New Passage-Northwick:
12 Gadwall, 1 female Pintail, 5 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Egret, 1 Kestrel,  6 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Ringed Plover, 50 Dunlin, 2 Black-tailed Godwit, 23 Whimbrel, 2 Common Sandpiper, 3 Redshank, 1 Swift, 4 Yellow Wagtail, 1 White Wagtail.

Sea-watch: 2 Great Skua, 2 Little Gull, 1 Arctic Tern, 3 Swift.
Other stuff, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 2 Chiffchaff, 3 Blackcap, 1 Whitethroat.

Abbots Leigh:
Sandy Lane: 1 flyover Raven, 1 Coal Tit, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap, 1 Nuthatch, 4 Blackbird.

Portbury:
M5 Junction 19: 1 flyover Hobby.

Walton Common:
1 Cuckoo (3rd sighting here this month).

Clevedon :
Dowlais: 1 Godwit, 2 Common Sandpiper.
Fosseway: 1 Sparrowhawk, hunting Starlings.

Barrow Tanks:
5 Dunlin, 31 Common Sandpiper, 1 White Wagtail.

Blagdon Lake:
2 Egyptian Goose, 2 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 5 Dunlin, 15 Common Sandpiper (dam, good count for here).

Planet Chew:
Red Kite: 1 flyover 3.30pm (Mike Jenkins).
Other stuff, 1 Scaup still, 1 Goldeneye, 1 Kestrel, 3+ Hobby, 1 Peregrine, 3 Little Ringed Plover new (Herriott's Pool), 5 Dunlin, 1 Whimbrel, 29 Common Sandpiper, 1 Yellow-legged Gull, 500 Swift, 2 Garden Warbler (Nunnery), 3 Whitethroat,  1 Whinchat, 1 Wheatear, 3 White Wagtail.
