Sightings 15/8/2016 - Arctic Tern, Whimbrel

Bristol, Stoke Park (Duchess pond):
2 Swift (all Swift records are worth reporting now) with 6 House Martin.

Bristol, High Kingsdown:
35+ Swift in one flock in the evening.

Bristol, Hanham:
6 House Martin.

Bristol, Brislington:
1 Sparrowhawk.

5 Spotted Flycatcher (Shire Valley), 2 more (Down Road).

Littleton:
1 Sparrowhawk, 3 Spotted Flycatcher

Aust:
3 Common Sandpiper (Cake Pill), 3 Spotted Flycatcher (along the cliff path by the services),, 2 Lesser Whitethroat.

Northwick Warth:  
Egyptian Goose, 10 Yellow Wagtail, Whinchat, 2 Willow Warbler.

New Passage/Pilning Wetlands:
3 Little Egret, Sparrowhawk, Buzzard, 2 juv Peregrine (chasing a Dunlin over the estuary), 25+ Lapwing, 1 Snipe.

Royal Portbury Dock:
2 ad + juv Little Egret, 2 Whimbrel, Common Sandpiper, 131 Redshank (on the river), c. 20 Turnstone.

Clevedon-Yeo:
20 Canada Goose, 6 Shelduck, 70+ Mallard, 14 Teal, 7 Little Egret, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk, 20 Oystercatcher, 25 Ringed Plover, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 80 Dunlin, 30+ Curlew, 2 Whimbrel, 1 Common Sandpiper, 150+ Redshank, 250 BH Gull, 70 Herring Gull, 3 juv GBB Gull, 1 Kingfisher, 10 Swallow, 3 Rock Pipit, 1 Wheatear, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 singing Chiffchaff, 3 Raven, 30 Linnet, 40 Goldfinch.

Barrow Gurney reservoirs:
3 Teal, 3 Common Sandpiper, Redshank, Wheatear.


Greenshank at Blagdon Lake today (George Stacey) 
Blagdon Lake:
2 Little Egret, Buzzard, 2 Hobby mobbing it,  2 Greenshank, 2 Green Sandpiper, Kingfisher.

Chew Valley Lake:
Herriotts Bridge:  3 Shelduck, 2 juv Black-tailed Godwit, 3 GBB Gull (1 ad, 2 juv).
Herons Green:  
2 Little Grebe, 1 juv Yellow-legged Gull, 2 Kingfisher, 9 Swallow,  21 House Martin.
Woodford Lodge: 1 Buzzard, 5 Swallow, 6+ Mistle Thrush.
Moreton:  
2 Buzzard, 6 Green Sandpiper, 3 GBB Gull, 1 Arctic Tern (touring the lake), 2 Stock Dove, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Green Woodpecker, 6 LT Tit, 1 Treecreeper, 2 Raven.
