Dull gloomy day with strong NE wind, but a Swallow was reported at Slimbridge yesterday

Keynsham:
Mute Swan sat on road at the junction of Charlton Rd and Charlton Pk. Protected by a van and driver as Police arrived to deal with it

Barrow Tanks:

Blagdon Lake:
The water level continues to rise. 16 Bewick's  Swans, 2 ad♂ Red-crested Pochards, 14 Little Egrets,   4 Great White Egrets, several flocks of Starlings (a passage migrant and winter visitor to the lake these days)

Chew Valley Lake:
The unpopular heavily vandalised 'hide' on the Bittern Trail is being taken down. It is understood a more conventional and hopefully vandal-proof hide will replace it. The Bittern Trail is closed for the foreseeable future as the wooden boardwalk has fallen into disrepair
