17th August '17 Thursday - Great Whites

Bright with sun, lots of cloud and a fresh breeze.

Chew had all the goodies today - Garganey, Great White Egrets, Marsh Harrier, Yellow-legged Gull

76 Ringed Plover, 30 Dunlin, 40 + Turnstone.

A variety of Yellow Wagtail plumages are on view at Pilning Wetland (John Martin)
Pilning wetland:
2 Little Egret, 28 Teal, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Kestrel, 115 Black-tailed Godwit, 70 Redshank, 4 Swift, mixed hirundines – mostly Sand Martin, 15+ Yellow Wagtail.

Lower Woods:
9-10 Spotted Flycatcher in two families.

3 Red-legged Partridge (Down Road).

Willsbridge:
1 Dipper, 8 LT Tit, 3+ Treecreeper.

Bath:
At the American Museum yesterday, a random eagle with a white tail in the top of a tall pine.  Has anyone lost one, or has anyone else seen it?

Newton St Loe:
1 Little Egret, 30 Swallow, 20 House Martin, 4+ Goldcrest, 2 Spotted Flycatcher, 2 Nuthatch, 1 Treecreeper, 50 House Sparrow, 2 Bullfinch.

Carlingcott:
200 Swallow - gathering on the wires now.

2 Little Egret, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Goldcrest, 12+ LTTit, 2 Coal Tit, 1 Jay, 1 Raven.
