29th September '17 Friday - Osprey


Wet to start with then sunny periods. Generally warm for the time of year.

Cattle Egret, Great White Egrets, Little Stint and Osprey at Chew

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE

Oldbury Power Station:
Fem Marsh Harrier flew over lagoon 3 and on towards lagoon 2.
Beauty of a Golden Plover landed at Pillhead Gout for half hour feed-up, then headed inland.

New Passage/Northwick Warth:

Pilning wetland:

2 Spotted Redshank, 5 Curlew Sandpipers and 4 Little Stint still on Pilning Wetland with the Blackwit flock (c450) on Butts Pool

Chipping Sodbury Common:
Kestrel, Grey Heron, 2 Whinchat, 4 Wheatear, 2 Stonechat, Little Owl.

NORTH SOMERSET:

Felton:
10 juv Blackbirds - looked like continental birds, 4 Song Thrush, 1 Redwing, 15 Chiffchaff,
40 Chaffinch, 4 Goldcrest and 6 stonechats together, most probably a family of locals rather than migrants.

Sand Point:
Firecrest

Bleadon:
2 Green Woodpecker, 2 Raven, 2 Buzzard, 1 Wheatear, 3 Stonechat, 1 Kestrel (juv)

1 Cetti's, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Grey Wagtail, 1 Yellow-legged Gull (juv on the pond), 1 Osprey 12.45 East shore, 20+ G BB Gull
