The WeBS counter reports: 'A hollow Willow tree was on fire along the bridleway; I suspect the local farmer had set it ablaze to get rid of a Hornet's nest. I phoned OPS Security, they came to inspect and called the Fire Brigade. Whilst waiting for them a Great Spotted Woodpecker was in the upper branches and I saw a distant Red Kite. OPS is not usually as exciting!'
