1 m Hen Harrier flew east late morning (Brian Lancastle)

Coalpit Heath:
Walk to Iron Acton - 1 Buzzard, roving flocks containing the usuals plus 4 Goldcrest, 2 Coal Tit, 1 Treecreeper, 1 Song Thrush, 25 Redwing, and a singing Chiffchaff. 1 Grey Wagtail and 2 Pied Wagtail

30 Canada Goose, 26 Mute Swan, 4 Gadwall, c110 Wigeon, 4 Teal, 1 Sparrowhawk, 85 Coot, 15 Dunlin, c30 Redshank, 3 Cetti's Warbler, 3 Rock Pipit, 4 Reed Bunting.

BELOW M4 & BANES

Marshfield:
Still over 200 Golden Plover between Cold Ashton and Marshfield
2 Clouded Yellow in the Shire Valley

Cold Ashton:
c.30 Golden Plover (presumably part of the flock above)

Upper Wraxall

Newton St Loe:
6 Mute Swan ( 3 adult 3 juv), 18+ Mallard, 11 Teal, 2 Grey Heron, 2 Cormorant, 4 Moorhen, 11 BH Gull, 1 LBB Gull, lots of corvids but very few small birds with only Blue Tit, Robin  and House Sparrow seen;  Wren, Grey Wagtail, Goldfinch heard.

Pensford:
1 Kingfisher behind Rising Sun Pub; also Yellowhammer on Pensford Lane

RESERVOIRS:

Blagdon: 
(Disturbance due to angling competition) 2 Pintail, 6 Great White Egret, 1 Little Egret, 290 Lapwing, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Dunlin, 2 Kestrel,1 Cetti's Warbler, c15 Linnet, 1 Redpoll (heard) 

Chew Valley Lake
1 Shelduck, 1m Aythya hybrid,  2 f Scaup , 1 f Goldeneye, 1m Goosander, 3 Black-necked Grebe, 1 juv Spoonbill, 5 Cattle Egret, 4 Great White Egret, 2 Little Egret, 1 Water Rail, 1 Coot, 29 Lapwing, 3 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Dunlin, 7 Snipe, 4 Green Sandpiper, 3 Spotted Redshank, 2 Yellow-legged Gull, 100 Common Gull, 1 Kingfisher, 400 Starling, 1 Grey Wagtail, 60 Pied Wagtail, 2 Water Pipit
(No reports of Spotted Crake today, though it was looked for)

Chew Valley Ringing Station:
Quiet morning, 2 each of Chiffchaff and Blackcap. Further to the Song Thrushes of yesterday, one that was ringed here at the end of November last year turned up for the first time again today - feel free to speculate as to where these birds are from.

Out of Avon (just):
Wotton-under-Edge - viewpoint at Wotton Hill (by the circular wall) 1 Osprey headed north along scarp towards North Nibley
