2 Caspian Tern found by Chris Stone at Portbury Dock this morning, the birds later relocated to Portbury Wharf pools where they were seen by many observers.
Birds then moved to the saltmarsh into the evening but giving only distant and erratic views.
Caspian is a great Avon rarity, only 1 previous record, at CVL 1988.

Oldbury Power Station:
1 flyover Red Kite upriver this evening (Pete Hazelwood).
Other evening stuff, 1 Goosander up, 50 Ringed Plover, 35 Grey Plover, 3 Knot, 1 Sanderling, 50 Dunlin, 1 Short-eared Owl out 6pm at L3.
New Passage-Northwick:
1 Turtle Dove (Kev Bainbridge), mobile around the houses and Glen.
Other stuff, 4 Canada Goose, 60 Shelduck, 17 Gadwall, 6 Tufted Duck, 1 Peregrine, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 120 Ringed Plover, 10 Sanderling, 1 Little Stint, 180 Dunlin, 1 Ruff, 1 Whimbrel, 1 Common Sandpiper, 24 Redshank, 11 Turnstone, 1 Yellow Wagtail.
No reports of the Temminck's.
