31st Oct '16 Monday - 24 Great White Egret

Murky morning which then turned in to a beautiful sunny autumn day

Record 24 Great White Egret and 2 Red-crested Pochard at Blagdon Lake
Water Rail at Duchess Pond and Chew
White-fronted Goose and Lesser Yellowlegs at Cheddar Reservoir


Bristol, Floating Harbour:
3 Cormorant, 1 Moorhen, 2 Grey Wagtail, 1 Mute Swan, 2 Peregrine perching on Finzels Reach

Bristol, Stoke Park, Duchess Pond:
1 Grey Heron, 1 Water Rail (heard only) in reeds at back of the big pond (maybe first record for site?),
1 Skylark (over), 1 Stonechat,  2 Meadow Pipit (over), 9 Redwing, 5 Bullfinch

Bristol, Stockwood Open Spaces:
1 Raven, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 5 Blue Tit, 2 Linnet, 12 Wood Pigeon, 4 Meadow Pipit

New Passage: 3 Cormorant, 1 GBB gull, 1 Grey Wagtail

Aust Wharf:

Short-eared Owl

Northwick Warth:
23 Shoveler, 46 Oystercatchers, 9 Grey Plover, 350 Dunlin, 3 Jack Snipe, 1 Snipe, 50+ Black-tailed Godwits

Portbury Wharf:
1 Swallow

Marshfield:
290 Common Gull (in the field by the lay by next to Marshfield Farm)

Emersons Green:
Starling murmuration over Bristol Science Park, Emerson's Green at 4:55pm

Ken Moor:
1 Heron, 1 Cormorant, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Stonechat, 30 Redwing, 30 Fieldfare, 1 Chiffchaff, 
2 Goldcrest, 3 Raven, 1 Jay, 75 Goldfinch.

Marksbury:
150+ starlings on the wires


Cheddar Reservoir:
1 juv White-fronted Goose, 1 Mandarin Duck, 1 juv Lesser Yellowlegs, European White-fronted Goose

9 Barnacle Goose, 2 Red-crested Pochard, 7 Scaup, 3 Goldeneye, 24 Great White Egret (record for Blagdon), 14 Little Egret (all together but others around the lake), 43 Grey Heron (record for Blagdon), 1 Kestrel,
1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Dunlin, 50+ Meadow Pipit,  4+ (flyover Skylark)

It seems that all the G-W Egrets came to Blagdon today there were reports of 15 in Villice bay earlier in the day then they all moved. They're roosting in the woods at Nunnery.
