23-09-24 Monday - Purple Sandpiper

Temp 16°C to 17°C - Heavy rain- more than 30mm fell today to go with the 23mm from yesterday. Almost no wind. The rain meant Chew had less mud today and Herriot's Pool was raging. Floods made roads difficult and the road and path to Stratford hide were impassable. Still some good birds seen today but let's hope we don't need to start building arks just yet-seems like only 5 minutes since the last lot.

Temp 14°C to 22°C - Thundery rain early on followed by a sunny afternoon, but with isolated thunderstorms. Very humid. A force 2 ENE wind.

Good numbers of waders reported from the area today, with at least 17 species recorded in total. 12 Spoonbill reported from Stratford (this smashes the previous record of 10 recorded in Avon in the entirety of 2011!)
