14-09-20 Monday - Pectoral Sandpiper still there

A glorious fine and sunny day, very hot and dry by the afternoon : 27°C.

Stoke Park, Duchess Pond:
2 Kestrel, 1 Raven, 1 House Martin, 6 Chiffchaff, 3 Blackcap, 2 Whitethroat, 100+ House Sparrow, 8 Meadow Pipit (over south, including one very nearly caught by a Sparrowhawk), 1 Bullfinch, 50 Goldfinch, 1 flock Siskin over south (heard not seen), 2 Reed Bunting.

1 Dipper - a little VIDEO

Oldbury Power Station:
Curlew Sandpiper at Shepperdine. 3 Knot, 1 juv. Great Crested Grebe.

New Passage/Northwick:
4 juv. Curlew Sandpiper.

Pilning Wetlands:
1 juv. Garganey, Pectoral Sandpiper (pager report at 17:30 on Butts Pool, by the building)

Sand Point/Bay:
30 Swallow and 50 House Martin moving south.
1 Tree Pipit, 50 Meadow Pipit, Siskin, 3 Grey Wagtail.
First small movement of Chaffinch.  A few Reed Buntings dropping out of the sky at dawn.


Worle:
2 Siskin over.

"Very quiet, just 28 species seen" including 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Swallow, 2 Chiffchaff, 1 Goldcrest, 2 Nuthatch, 20 Meadow Pipit.

Teal, 1 Garganey, 11 Cattle Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 8 Great White Egret, 8 Little Egret, 1 Marsh Harrier.

1 Water Rail, 1 Yellow-l Gull, 10 Little Egret, Reed Bunting.

Dam:
1 Egyptian Goose, 1 Common Sandpiper.

Hollowbrook:
12 Ringed Plover, 3 Dunlin.

Heron's Green:
10 Cattle Egret, 12 Great White Egret (9 a.m.).  The Cattle Egrets moved to Herriott's Pool later and included a black-billed juv., 5 Meadow Pipit.
