Very early arrival of Firecrests today, with at least 3 individuals reported in the Avon region. Easterly winds look set to continue tomorrow and again from Thursday onwards, so definitely worth looking for more Whinchat, Redstart etc. in the next few days.

Temp 14°C to 22°C - Light showers in morning cleared to give sunny afternoon. A force 2 SW wind.

Looking like a better week for autumn migration with high pressure and south-easterly winds tomorrow and again at the weekend. Should hopefully bring in the first push of Whinchats and Curlew Sandpipers and maybe a couple of eastern scarcities like Wryneck or Red-backed Shrike.
