29-06-24 Saturday - First signs of autumn... ?

Temp 11°C to 22°C - Sunny spells all day but with some patchy cloud. A force 1 NW wind.

As many will know, the autumn migration season kicks off in late June/early July. Today, we received the first reports of returning Redstarts at CSC and Black-necked Grebe at CVL. Hopefully the start of many good birds to come in the next few months!

Tomorrow is 'The South Gloucestershire Big Bash'. Seeing as it is the quiet time of year, the South Glos Birds Team thought it would be a good idea to find out how many species of birds, butterflies, dragon and damselflies can be recorded in the South Gloucestershire area in one day! No need to travel long distances, where you are is just fine. The team will keep a running total from 00:01 to 23:59 tomorrow.
