BOC watch-point: An American Goldfinch type seen around the seawall environs, seen by 2 observers separately. Presumably an escaped cage-bird and worth watching out for if you visit the Peregrine watch-point.

Paul is just back from a 10-day birding trip to the Clevedon coast and sent in these photos.

If you thought Portbury Wharf was good, then just feast your eyes on these Bobby Dazzlers and wish that Clevedon was your local patch.
Most of the birds were seen at the Yeo Est end though anywhere along the Clevedon coast will turn up something outstanding.

Nest 1: most active with adults bringing in food every 2 mins to 3 youngsters.

We had to have a lie down after all that scientific study.

The Great Knot in Norfolk

Great Knot is a monster rarity for the UK, the one that that has turned up at RSPB Titchwell is only the 2nd Norfolk record.
Confusion between the 2 Knots is impossible, size alone is diagnostic.

Windy weather in mid-summer often pushes up a few seabirds into Avon waters, presumably wandering birds from the south Wales coast.

Seawatch 2-3.45pm: 1 Storm Petrel to south 2.05pm, 3 adult Gannet (Dave Gibbs).

Blagdon Lake:
1 Cuckoo, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Grey Wagtail family.
