IN MEMORIAM
Sad news today to hear that Steve Hale (aka Mrs Trellis), who was the founder of the Avon Birds blog on 08/01/2011, died yesterday evening. Steve collected the Avon bird records for many years, carrying them from paper into the computer age. By 04/01/2013 his blog had over 30,000 views, and had become one of the most popular British bird sites. He kept the information concise and simple, as we continue to do today. There are still a few of of his blogs available to see in 2015, up to when the BOC took over on 31st July.
Steve was well known for his sense of humour, always referring to the great photos sent in as "Dire Bird Photos - don't look". Many Avon birders will remember him fondly and we send condolences to his family and friends.
