15-02-20 Saturday - Storm Dennis

Wet and stormy with a southerly gale (Storm Dennis), but mild.  Most birders stayed at home, many watching Blackcaps in the garden.

Sunday's coach trip to the Exe Estuary has been CANCELLED in view of the dire weather forecast.

20 Magpie, 1 Coal Tit, 2 Long-tailed Tit, 1 m. Blackcap, 1 Goldcrest, 15 Redwing, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Mistle Thrush, 2 Greenfinch (rare here), 25 Goldfinch.

St George:
2 Blackcap (f &m), 1 Greenfinch

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE

Oldbury Power Station:
2 Canada Goose, Wigeon, Mallard, c.50 Teal, Woodpigeon, Moorhen, Curlew, c.50 Turnstone, Dunlin, 1 Redshank, Black-headed Gull, 2 Common Gull, 1 Great Black-backed Gull, Magpie, Carrion Crow, 1 Song Thrush (singing in the storm), Meadow Pipit, 4 Chaffinch.

Severn Beach -garden:
1 Greenfinch
