14-12-20 Monday - Woodcock

Not quite what the forecast warned about: it didn't rain all day, in Bristol at least - in fact, here  it was bright until mid-day, gradually clouding over during the afternoon.

At least 1 Firecrest still at 08:40 in woodland opposite (and about 100m south) of Bristol Zoo entrance. Also 35+ Redwing leaving roosts in ivy-clad trees

Eastville Park:
13 Must Swan, 25 Mallard, 7 Coot, 6 Moorhen, 80 Black-headed Gull, 6 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Peregrine (Trinity Church), 1 Coal Tit, 1 Nuthatch, 1 Pied Wagtail

Westbury Park:
Garden - 1 m Blackcap (first time this winter + female was around about 10 days ago)

1 female-type Black Redstart still around jetty

Lower Woods:
7 fly-over Woodcock from 4.30pm, 5 Tawny Owl, 3 Marsh Tit,Lesser Redpoll, and a lone bat at 3.30pm

Yate:
Brimsham Park Lake - 2m 2f Goosander - presumed same birds also at Cooper's Lake

Almondsbury:
Garden - 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Blackcap (a pair), 1 Treecreeper (a first for our garden)
