Little Egret - unusual feeding technique.
5 birds fly low over the water in single file, fluttering slowly and ‘surface picking’ like terns, presumably taking advantage of a shoals of fry or other small fish staying near the surface. They did numerous runs, returning to land between each one - assume each run is a fair exertion for an egret. It was distinctly odd behaviour, for all intents and purposes acting in a manner more given to the terns at the lake.

Herriott's inc Pool:
8 Green Sandpiper,
