Very cold today with the strong wind, no snow at the lake or on the hills, just a bit in the East

Sadly no Bittern seen today, but numbers of duck rose through the day

Blagdon Lake:
Mute Swan 'BJB', 7 Goldeneyes, 8 Goosanders,  27 Grey Herons, 17 Great Crested Grebes,
1 Little Stint, 1 Common Sandpiper, 500 Common Gulls (roost at Chew), over 1000 BH Gulls,
a handful of GBB Gulls, a few more Herring Gulls, over 1000 Jackdaws, c.150-200 Redwings

January has provided lean pickings! I've yet to see or hear a Green Woodpecker, Stock Dove, Collared Dove or Kestrel at the lake
