22-12-2018 Saturday - Water Pipit

Much nicer than yesterday after overnight rain  - a moderate westerly with sunny spells and occasional showers.  Mild but damp.

Henleaze - a garden:
23 Redwing

Eastville Park:
6 Goosander (2 m.), 9 Cormorant, 5 Grey Heron, 16 Black-headed Gull, 3 Kingfisher (1 f.), 1 Dipper, 1 Grey Wagtail.

1 Common Gull.


SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE

Oldbury Power Station:
A Greylag Goose flew upriver at dawn, a Golden Plover with c.500 Lapwing and c.2000 Dunlin at yacht club, 2 Bar-tailed Godwit. 2 Mistle Thrush, Skylarks, Reed Buntings.


New Passage/Northwick Warth/Pilning Wetlands:
14 Canada Goose, 2 Mute Swan, 36 Shoveler, 6 Gadwall, 2 first-winter m. Pintail, 12 Teal, 10 Tufted Duck, 1 Little Grebe, 3 Grey Heron, c.35 Coot, c.20 Oystercatcher, 595 Lapwing, 17 Curlew, c.200 Black-tailed Godwit, c.40 Dunlin, 3 Snipe (in salt marsh tussocks near pill), c.30 Redshank, 41 Common Gull, 1 Kestrel, 4 GS Woodpecker, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Song Thrush, 2 Mistle Thrush in their Mistletoe tree, c.20 Pied Wagtail, 5 Meadow Pipit, Water Pipit by the pill.


NORTH SOMERSET

Backwell Lake:
32+ Little Egret and probably 2-3 Great White Egrets but too dark to be certain.


BELOW M4 & BANES

Marshfield and West Littleton:
32 Golden Plover, 40+ Skylark, c.10 Meadow Pipit, 2 Raven, 200+ Fieldfare and Redwing, 5+ Chaffinch, c.65 Yellowhammer.
