30-03-19 Saturday - Arrival of summer migrants

Misty start, later dry and warm with hazy sunshine and a light breeze - up to 16°C
Summer migrants reported today, with some significant fresh arrivals late afternoon 
Little Ringed Plover, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Swallow, House Martin, Sand Martin,  Wheatear, White Wagtail + Ring Ouzel ( just out of Avon)

30-03-19 Sparrow sp with m House Sparrow- see note below, Fishponds (Allan Chard)
Fishponds:
An odd-looking Sparrow has been visiting our garden intermittently throughout the winter and today I managed to get a few photos. It's a much richer colour than the House Sparrow male and has mainly a brown head without the usual grey. Looks like a possible Italian x House Sparrow.

Portishead:
Robin feeding a baby Robin in garden

Clevedon:
Colehouse Lane (WBS highlights) -  1 Little Grebe, 1  Cetti's Warbler on the Blind Yeo at Kenn Road bridge. The Goosanders appear to have left.and no sign of any of the herons/egrets which wintered there.  Two singing Chiffchaff. Just a handful of Starlings but I found House Sparrows at three sites, which is always good.
