27-04-19 Saturday - skua fest

Tempestuous as Storm Hannah struck - squally winds and heavy showers.  Warm though.

Ring-necked Duck
Common Scoters, Arctic Terns, 3 species of skuaGuillemot
Citrine Wagtail, "Channel" Yellow Wagtail

The female Citrine Wagtail is still at Pilning Wetlands
and was showing well by noon (Ben Ofield)
BRISTOL

Sneyd Park, Bishops Knoll:
2 Jackdaw, 4 Blackbird, 1 Robin, 2 Wren, 1 Great Tit.


SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE

Oldbury Power Station:
1 Fulmar (most unusual here), 8 Whimbrel, 5 Arctic Tern and possible distant Black Tern down-river


Pilning wetland:
12 Canada Goose, 55+ Shelduck, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 1 m. "Channel" Yellow Wagtail, f. Citrine Wagtail, Swallows and House Martins.


Severn Beach:
2 Common Scoter, 2 Fulmar, 1 Gannet, 15 Kittiwake, 30+ Common Gull. 18 Arctic Tern, 2 Great Skua, 3 Arctic Skua, 4  Pomarine Skua.

NORTH SOMERSET

Clevedon - Ladye Bay:
10 Fulmar, 2 Gannet, 4 Kittiwake, 1 Arctic Skua, 2 Pomarine Skua. 1 Guillemot.


Sand Point/Bay:
9:20-2:50 (down-river): 21 Fulmar, 6 Gannet, 4 Kittiwake, 3 tern sp,  (Up-river): 5 Great Skua, 5 Arctic Skua.  (No Poms or terns.)


Anchor Head:
early till 10:45:  11+ Fulmar, 8 Arctic Tern, 3 Arctic Skua, 2 Pomarine Skua,Great Skua.


Bristol Airport:
1 Wheatear

1 m. Ring-necked Duck (showing well at Moreton Hide), 1 Whimbrel (Herons Green, then flew towards Blagdon), flock of 22+ Arctic Tern.
