26-08-19 Monday - Cuckoo

Another glorious day after a misty murky start.  More high cloud, still hot and dry with a light wind.

1 Grey Heron, 4 Buzzard, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 GS Woodpecker, 1 Peregrine, 2 Jay, 2 Coal Tit, 73 Swallow (feeding and resting on pylon wires), 3 Chiffchaff.


Stockwood:
1 Raven - only heard, as it was very foggy early this morning!

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE

Oldbury Power Station:
2 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Swift, 2 Spotted Flycatcher (along main rhyne).

1 Tree Pipit, Sand Martin two feet from a Hobby, 1 juv. male Redstart.

Grey Plover at New Passage ('Lisegirl')
New Passage:
1 Wigeon, 4 Avocet, 1 Grey Plover, 1 Ringed Plover, 80 Black-tailed Godwit, a few Dunlin, 60 Turnstone, 2 Snipe, 100 Redshank, 1 Peregrine, 1 Coal Tit, 3 juv. Whinchat, 8 Yellow Wagtail.

250 Canada Goose, 1 Sparrowhawk, 3 Lapwing, 2 Yellow Wagtail (possibly more), 50+ Linnet.
