A welcome splash of colour on a dull day

Blaise Estate:
Sparrowhawk, Kingfisher, 2 Blackcap, 2 Nuthatch, 5 Mistle Thrush, Grey Wagtail 

Muntjac calling on the Frome along Glenfrome Road/Cottrell Road around 8-00 pm

Sea Mills:
26 Mallard, 2 Oystercatcher, 19 Lapwing, 1 Curlew, 2 Common Sandpiper, 28 Redshank, many Black-headed Gulls, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull, many Feral Pigeon, 1 Jay, 24 Starling, 1 Grey Wagtail, 2 Pied Wagtail


New Passage/Northwick:
250 Lapwing, 30 Snipe, Kestrel, f Merlin


Twenty different species seen in the garden today included:-1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker (m&f), 2 Nuthatch, 1 Marsh Tit, 1 Wren, 7 Goldfinch
Towards dusk several groups of Starling flew purposefully over in a southerly direction. 

No reports

Blagdon Lake:
37 Lapwing, 1 Great White Egret, 2 pr Stonechat

Heron's Green:
Cattle Egret in toe of bay

Harrier Sp. very probably an immature male Hen Harrier flew west across the lake and disappeared behind Stratford Island at 9.40. Not seen subsequently.

In May 2018 a nestling Black-headed Gull was colour-ringed in north-east Poland. The bird has been reported 6 times at CVL during winters of 18/19, 2019 and now in 2020. Data from Ornithological Station Museum and Institute PAS, GdaƄsk.
