06-01-25 Monday - Grey Partridge

Temp 02°C to 06°C - Heavy overnight rain which had cleared by 9am in most places.  What felt like a cold westerly breeze brought the temperatures down.

CALLING  ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS

Work is beginning on the next Avon Bird Report and one aspect of this will be the inclusion of a number of bird photographs,  As in the last Report we are hoping to include up to bird 40 pictures.  So if you have any that you think might be suitable please e-mail them to me at
All shots need to have been taken in 2024 and within the Avon boundary.  Also  we need to know when and where they were taken, and any special circumstances.  Last year we included one drawing and it would be good if we could include one or two in the next ABR so our request applies here also.  Most photographs will be half-page 'landscape' but one or two of the best can be full page 'portrait'. - and the very best of these will be used for the front cover.  If you have any queries do please get in touch, otherwise send what you have preferably by the end of the month.

Harvey also has copies of the 2023 Avon Bird Report still for sale.
