Fine with high cloud and little wind, a bit colder and duller towards evening.

Wintering rarities - Cattle Egrets and Waxwings.
Spring migrants - Red Kite, Wheatear, hirundines arriving.

2 Mistle Thrush, 15 Redwing.

1 Green Woodpecker anting, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 3 Raven, 4 Nuthatch.

Bradley Stoke:
10+ Waxwing (still at Tesco but not many berries left)

Oldbury Power Station:
20 Shelduck, 19 Teal, 87 Wigeon, 5 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Peregrine, 31 Curlew, 1 Water Rail, 7 Common Gull, 2 singing Skylark, 6 Meadow Pipit, Grey Wagtail, 23 Redwing, 14 Stonechat (site record).

Aust Warth:
3 Stonechat.

Northwick Warth/Pilning Wetland:
6 Canada Goose, 44 Shelduck, 350 Wigeon, 120 Teal, 12 Gadwall, 14 Shoveler, 13 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Little Egret, 2 Lapwing, 400 Dunlin, 13 Turnstones, 2 Water Rail, 1 Sparrowhawk,
55 Pied Wagtails.

Newton St Loe:
9 Grey Heron + 3 nests, 20 Teal, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Green Woodpecker, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 30 Meadow Pipit

RESERVOIRS:

Blagdon Lake:
1 Egyptian Goose, 2 m. Scaup, 1 Red Kite (circling over farmland between BL and Chew at 1420 hrs), Coot on nesting platform, 6 Sand Martin, 1 Swallow, Reed Bunting singing.

Chew Valley Lake:
1 Red Kite (flying west around West Harptree at 12:43 - heading for Blagdon then?).
7 + Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel (from Moreton and Stratford).

Dam:
8 Barnacle Goose (presumed feral), 1 Egyptian Goose, 4 Goldeneye.

Woodford:
12 Scaup (5 m 7 f. off Nunnery), 1 m. Common Scoter, 10 Goldeneye.


Heron's Green:
2 Little Grebe, 1000+ gulls sp. (following a muck-spreader), 2 Stonechat.

Moreton:
1 Shelduck, 6 Goldeneye, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Cetti's Warbler, 3 f. Stonechat, 1 Siskin.

Herriotts End:
4 Shelduck, 4 Pintail, 2 Goldeneye, 2 Grey Wagtail.
