Windy in the morning - many birds hunkering down. Relatively mild: 10 degrees

'The most interesting sighting was a pair of Lesser Black-backed Gulls in the New Cut which by their degree of blackness, I’d class as at least L fuscus intermedius, if not L fuscus fuscus. They also had very clean white heads. I’ve logged them in Bird Track as intermedius. I have seen an example before here, but not very often.'

Ed: Larus fuscus intermedius is the Scandanavian race; L fuscus fuscus breeds in the Baltic, and is a national rarity so anyone who observes one locally needs to take detailed notes (it's not just how dark the mantle is).
