Chipping Sodbury:
3 Buzzard, 1 Red Kite circling together at 1.30 pm
Chipping Sodbury Common:
4th: Swallow (increase in numbers), Willow Warbler, Common Whitethroat, Lesser Whitethroat, Yellowhammer
River from from under M4 to Nightingale Bridge (Frampton Cotterell)
2 Little Egret (one at Damsons Bridge nr Kendleshire, 1 flyover at Nightingale Bridge), 4 Swift, 3 House Martin, 1 Swallow, 17 Blackcap, 16 Chiffchaff *, 2 Garden Warbler, 3 Whitethroat, 1 Lesser
Whitethroat, 2 Willow Warbler + 10 House Martin above Whiteshill cricket ground.
*One Chiffchaff with an odd song just south of Huckford Quarry
NORTH SOMERSET
Portbury Wharf:
1 sub-adult Spoonbill - landed briefly on the North Pool island at 13.50. It then took off again and circled high over the reserve before heading north towards the estuary (NB a Spoonbill reported flying over the Brue Estuary, Burnham, later in afternoon - same bird?)
Drove Rhine- 4 Gadwall (2 pairs, one with 7+ ducklings), 1 Grey Heron, 4 Buzzard, 3 Reed Warbler.
Clevedon-Yeo:
10 of Shelduck, 4 Little Egret, 2 sparrowhawk, 2 Moorhen, 36 Oystercatcher, Lapwing present (no sign of any chicks), 30 Whimbrel, 4 Curlew, 8 Bar-tailed Godwit, 20 Dunlin + 20 at Clevedon, 1 Common Sandpiper , Redshank present, 1 Peregrine (the very large female again, in flight looks size of Buzzard!), 1 Kestrel,3 Raven, lots of Whitethroat and Reed Warbler, 1 m Whinchat
Bristol Airport:
Distant Egret sp seen from Bristol Airport, circling over Brockley Coombe before gaining height and heading SW. Probable Little but an unusual sight here
