Small parties of Swift (first of year in each place)  reported today from St Anne's, Fishponds, Withywood, Coombe Dingle and Yate

Yatton:
Wemberham Lane - 1 Peregrine, 7 singing Reed Warbler.

( Reed Warbler populations must be high - several were singing from very small patches of reed)

BELOW M4 & BANES

Bath:
Female TX left the Bath Peregrines nest box this morning and has been recovered from the ground. She appears healthy and is uninjured, but is way too young for such an adventure. There is a plan for her reintroduction.....
Afternoon update:
TX appears to have weathered her 160ft [way too] early fledging without injury. To be safe, she's currently under the care of the Bird of Prey Hospital @ICBPNewent, our SW area specialist advisors. Once given the all clear she will be returned to the Bath nest box.

Herriott's inc Pool:
1 Garganey still, plus 1 Great White Egret. 2 Common Sandpiper, 1 Black Tern  perched on buoy lakeside, many Reed Warbler

Chew Valley Ringing Station:
2 Reed Warblers controlled this morning were ringed here 'in the nest' at about a week old in May and June last summer. Now back and hopefully breeding themselves.
