01-09-19 Sunday - Osprey

First day of metereological autumn, so - inevitably - warm with bright sunshine all day. Very high tide. Temperatures at Totterdown, Bristol, 11 - 20°C.

Ashton Court:
1 Osprey east high over Ashton Court, c3.45 pm

Stoke Bishop:
1 Swift low over Kewstoke Rd, Stoke Bishop; possibly the same bird observer saw and reported a couple of days ago? 

Finzels Reach:
2 Cormorant, 1 BH Gull, LB Gulls, 3 Peregrine, 4 Jay, 7 Magpie, plus the usual colony of House Sparrows

Eastville Park:
3 Mute Swan, 40+ Mallard, 34 BH Gull, 7 LB gull (including juv.), just the one male Kingfisher, 1 GS Woodpecker, 1 Chiffchaff,  2 Grey Wagtail

Oldbury Power Station:
Mostly Pillhead Gout - 1 Little Egret, 1 Curlew though a large number flushed by Hobby further downstream and crossed river), 2 Lapwing, 124 Ringed Plover (at one point almost feeding round my feet) 50 Dunlin, 51 Redshank, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Hobby, 1 Peregrine, 4 Skylark, 4 House Martin, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler all in good numbers, 7 Wheatear
