At 4.00pm in bright sun the Knot were not about - not a sign of any. Probably they are feeding elsewhere in the Estuary, possibly the Welsh coast, and returning to the Kenn mouth to roost. If any info is forthcoming we would welcome it. This is a record flock for the site. In the 1980s when 10000+ Dunlin were regularly seen roosting here (at Cl-Y) most of the birds were feeding on the Welsh coast crossing the Estuary twice a day to Cl-Y, presumably to find a safe roost.

By evening along Dowlais, the Knot flock was back but there was only one Dunlin
