20-09-19 Pilning Wetland (Paul Bowerman)The pumping of water into the new "Curlew Field" scrape has started on Pilning Wetland. The 6th pool on the site. Hopefully the disturbance over recent weeks will prove worth while.
Pilning wetland:
1  Little Ringed Plover , 1 Pectoral Sandpiper (in flight late evening and calling over wetlands and Northwick Warth, disappeared onto foreshore), 1 Spotted Redshank

Also: c.50 Canada Goose, 8 Mute Swan, c.60 Shelduck, 4 Gadwall, c.40 Wigeon, c.40 Teal, 2 Tufted Duck, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Little Egret, 1 Cormorant, 1 Buzzard, 8 Moorhen, 25 Coot, 5 Lapwing, 1 Curlew, 14 Black-tailed Godwit, c.90 Redshank, 1 Peregrine, 1 Chiffchaff, c.40 Starling, flock 35 Linnet.

Codrington:
White Stork- seen from M4 between junctions 18 and 19 at 11:45. Looked to be landing in fields north of M4 south of Codrington village.

No further sign 1pm to 2:20pm in Codrington area but  1 Red Kite. Lots of grass cutting and ploughing which presumably attracted the Stork to  the area, but it has not stayed

Bristol Airport:
Small groups of Swallow and House Martin heading South & East from first light until lunchtime

Yatton:
Wemberham Lane - 1 Kingfisher, 1 Peregrine

20 Pintail, 1 ad White Stork – 1 ad (no tracker) 14.30 – 16.00 headed off high west out through  HG, 2 Grey Heron, 4 Little Egret, 6 Great White Egret, 2 Marsh Harrier, Water Rail, 1 juv Common Gull, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Kestrel, 4 Hobby
