29-10-20 Thursday - Lesser Yellowlegs

Yet another windy, wet and dismal day, but still mild.  Apparently a bit drier at Chew which produced most of today's sightings.

Note: Moreton hide at Chew has been roped off for repairs.  Please do not attempt to access it until the work is complete.

Marshfield:
A few Pheasants, but no partridges, 1 Merlin on Down Track

Bath:
Pennyquick:
2 Red-legged Partridge.

Newton St Loe:
38 species including Green Woodpecker and 20+ Greenfinch.

Marksbury:
c.30 Starling.

Cattle Egret numbers are also growing around Chew (Simon Isgar)

Blagdon Lake:
3 Goldeneye, possible juv. Great Northern Diver, 20 Lapwing, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Great White Egret, 3 Stonechat.

Chew Valley Lake
3 Shelduck, 1 f Scaup, 1 m Lesser Scaup, 11 Goldeneye, 6 Goosander, 7 Lapwing, 3 Snipe, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Lesser Yellowlegs, 1 Tawny Owl calling at 14.30, 1 Green Woodpecker, Fieldfare, Redwing, 2 Stonechat.

Heron's Green:
10 f. Goosander, 4 Little Grebe, 3 Snipe, 1 Common Sandpiper, 5 Great White Egret, 4 Little Egret, 5 Grey Heron, 3 G BB Gull, 1 Yellow-legged Gull, 2 Raven, 1 Wheatear (on the wall - brightened up a wet day), 2 Stonechat (m. and f.), 1 Cetti's Warbler, 4 Pied Wagtail, 6 Chaffinch.

18 Cattle Egret (bottom of Stratford Lane near Blue Bowl with a load of gulls), 4 Bearded Tit (in front of hide)

Moreton:
20+ Goldeneye, 1 Goosander, 6 Stock Dove, 2 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Peregrine, 4 Raven, 4 Jay, 2 Cetti's Warbler, 2 Stonechat (m. and f.) & the following, all in a big flock in field behind the hide: 60+ Meadow Pipit, 20+ Pied Wagtail, 1 White Wagtail, 12+ Chaffinch, 25+ Linnet
