a good showing of this species this spring, especially in recent days, max.10 here on 5 May

Summary: Nice day for raptors,  with 2 Red Kite, 1 Marsh Harrier, 2 Osprey through. Several Cuckoo at Planet Chew today.

Kingswood (Bristol):

1 flyover Osprey 1.30pm to north-west (Martyn Hayes).

1 flyover Peregrine 2pm with a Pigeon kill.

Stockwood (Bristol):

Bifield Rd: 1 singing Skylark.

Open Space:  2 Green Woodpecker, 8 Chiffchaff, 8 Blackcap, 2 Whitethroat, 1 Song Thrush, 4 Bullfinch of note.

Stoke Park (Bristol):

1 Lesser Whitethroat, 4 Whitethroat.

Inglestone Common:

1 flyover Red Kite 1pm (Paul Bowdler).

Warmley Forest Park:

1 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Buzzard, 30 Woodpigeon, 1 Tawny Owl, 12 Swift, 1 Kingfisher, 3 Green Woodpecker, 4 Jay, 1 Goldcrest, 8 Swallow, 6 Chiffchaff, 1 Willow Warbler, 2 Blackcap, 2 Whitethroat, 2 Nuthatch, 25 Starling, 7 Blackbird, 4 Song Thrush, 1 Mistle Thrush, 8 Greenfinch, 9 Bullfinch of particular note.

Shepperdine:

1 Wigeon still lingering.

Oldbury Power Station:

Morning tide: 1 Little Egret, 4 Grey Plover, 2 Dunlin, 6 Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Whimbrel, 1 Collared Dove (flying north).

Other stuff, 1 Short-eared Owl still, 4 Redpoll.

Littleton Warth:

WeBS: 1 Oystercatcher, 8 Whimbrel, 1 BH Gull.

Other stuff, 1 Cuckoo, 1 Garden Warbler, 3 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Yellow Wagtail, 2 Grey Wagtail, 4 Redpoll.
