Sightings 16/8/2016 - Tree Pipit

Another fine, hot, sunny day - 26C.    11 p.m. update.

Did you notice that post-moult Robins have started to sing again?  The BOC Tuesday Walkers recorded 9 singing birds around the Litton Reservoirs today.

Bristol, Filton:
2 Raven.

2 Grey Heron (1 juv), 1 Kingfisher, 1 Grey Wagtail, 4 Long-tailed Tit, 3 Goldfinch.

Stockwood Open Space:
1 Buzzard, 5 Whitethroat, 5 Chiffchaff, 2 Jay, 10 Goldfinch, 4 Bullfinch.

Hawkesbury, Broad Hill:
3 Redstart.

Aust:
Redstart, 2 Whinchat, Lesser Whitethroat

New Passage/Pilning Wetlands:
150 Canada Goose, 1 Egyptian Goose, 4 Gadwall, 30+ Teal, 10 Little Egret, 9 Little Grebe, Sparrowhawk (and another at Severn Beach), m Kestrel, 5 Ringed Plover, 1 juv Little Ringed Plover, 35 Lapwing, 80 Dunlin, 3 Snipe, 1 Whimbrel, 2 juv Greenshank, 30 Redshank, 2 Green Sandpiper, 10+ Yellow Wagtail, 60+ Pied Wagtail, Wheatear, Lesser Whitethroat, Raven.

Clevedon, Court Woods:
2 Red Kite reported, identified on call.

Sand Point:
7 Oystercatcher, 2 Whimbrel, 3 Redshank, 10 Tree Pipit, Yellow Wagtail, 1 Redstart, 1 m Wheatear, 10 Whitethroat, 5 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Willow Warbler, 9 Linnet.

Litton Reservoirs:
7 Cormorant, 1 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 10 Little Grebe (some juv), 3 GC Grebe (ad + 2 juv), 1 Kingfisher, 7 Grey Wagtail (some of them juv).  In the area: 36 Swallow, 21 House Martin.

Chew Valley Lake:
juv Marsh Harrier (southern end, 11 a.,m.  Later seen near Nunnery, on the ground in fresh cut hay looking for something to eat).
Herriotts Bridge:
3 Shelduck, 5 Buzzard, 2 Black-tailed Godwit, 4 GBB Gull, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker.
Heron's Green:
2 Little Grebe, 1 Sparrowhawk, 4 Hobby, 1 Kestrel, 1 Kingfisher, 6 Swallow, 15 House Martin.
Stratford:
24 Cormorant, ad + juv Yellow-legged Gull.
Moreton:
2 Buzzard (over hills across the lake), 1 Hobby, 3 GBB Gull, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Treecreeper.
Nunnery:
1 Buzzard, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Raven.
