Avon Bird Report

The 2017 edition of the Avon Bird Report is available now. BOC and BNS members will get their copies in November. It's the largest ever at 208 pages, the cost is £10 plus £1.50 postage and can be obtained from Harvey Rose at:
Arncliffe
Coast Road
Walton Bay
Clevedon, BS21 7FW

(If you are passing my way you are welcome to drop by to pick up a copy but please let me know first that you are coming.)  I also have back numbers at a much-reduced cost.  Please note that cheques should be made out to "AOG", that is Avon Ornithological Group.

Apart from the regular items the Report contains papers on (a) Trends in wildfowl numbers in the Severn Estuary (Rupert Higgins), (b) Unusual Avon area sightings for the period 2013 to 2017 (Andy Davis), (c) Iberian Chiffchaff in Yate (Mark Coller), and (d) Unusual Common Gulls in the Chew Valley area (Andy Davis and Richard Mielcarek).
