29-11-18 Thursday - Great Skua

Mild, strong winds and torrential rain up to mid-morning. Sunny early afternoon, sufficient to tempt me out in time for the next set of showers

Oldbury Power Station:
Great Skua - attacking juv Herring Gull; regurgitation achieved, Shepperdine

Severn Beach:
3 Red-breasted Merganser (also seen at Oldbury Power Station), 1 Great Crested Grebe, 30+ Kittiwake (in the wind heading NE)

NORTH SOMERSET

Portishead:
6 Cormorant (marina), 2 Purple Sandpiper (Battery Point)

Weston-super-Mare, Anchor Head:
2650 Dunlin - vismig, steady stream 08:30 to 10:00, and 2 Kittiwake

Sand Point/Bay:
Red-throated Diver (over the end of the point heading up river)

Newton St Loe:
20 Teal, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Jay, 3 Raven, 1 Fieldfare, 100+ Redwing, 2 Song Thrush, 4 Mistle Thrush, 2 Pied Wagtail, 8 Chaffinch, 20+ Goldfinch, 1 Yellowhammer,

Blagdon Lake:
1 Egyptian Goose, 1 Goosander (f), but only 15 Lapwing - all at CVL!

Chew Valley Lake
154 Canada Goose (off Woodford), 2 Egyptian Goose, 11 Bewick's Swans (7 flew off South / still family party of 4 at Moreton)
