04-11-18 Sunday - Bewick's Swans

A grey and dull morning, then persistent rain for much of the afternoon.  Not cold though.  A few birders at Chew but many stayed at home, photographing birds on their feeders (see Twitter).

Eastville Park:
1 Little Egret.

Winterbourne:
Little Owl.

Warmley:
1 Little Egret (school grounds next to Siston Brook).

Portbury Wharf:
Cattle Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk, a Water Rail calling, 15 Lapwing, 3 Common Snipe, 3 Common Gull, 1 juv. GBB Gull, 1 Kingfisher, pr. Stonechat, c. 4 Cetti's Warbler.

Wemberham Lane, Yatton:
1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Kestrel, 100 Fieldfare, 20 Redwing, 1 Raven.


BELOW M4 & BANES

Paulton:
1 Buzzard, 50 Black-headed Gull, 100 Common Gull, 40 Woodpigeon, 120 Skylark, 82 Starling, 6 Blackbird, 1 House Sparrow, 1 Meadow Pipit, 10 Chaffinch, 14 Linnet, 20 Yellowhammer.

Blagdon Lake:
2 Bewick's Swan, 3 Great White Egret. 1 Little Egret.


Chew Valley Lake
4 Goosander (1 m.), 8 Great White Egret, 4 Little Egret, 4 Cattle Egret. 2 Snipe, 1 Green Sandpiper, 5 Goldcrest, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Reed Bunting.
