Oldbury Power Station:
1 m Gadwall, 5 Tufted Duck, 1 Green Woodpecker,Peregrine pair active around nesting ledge, singing Chiffchaff, 3 Stonechat, 2 Bullfinch, Reed Bunting
Aust Sewage Works:
2 Raven, 5+ Chiffchaff (overwintering ), 2 Goldcrest

Aust Warth:
2 Short-eared Owl late afternoon approx 17-40
Hoar Gout:
2 Mallard, 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Grebe, 4 Coot

NORTH SOMERSET

24-02- 19 Gadwall, Portbury Wharf (Chris Clarke)
Portbury Wharf:
6 Gadwall, 2 Oystercatcher, 13 Lapwing, 7 (visible) Snipe, 1 2nd year Common Gull, 1 Yellow-legged Gull,  2 Little Owl, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker (drumming), 1 Peregrine Falcon, 1 Sand Martin  (flew over the North Pool from the south before heading north-west, the second earliest date for Avon, after one on Feb 23rd 2008), 3 Cetti's Warbler,  2 Stonechat

The Yellow-legged Gull  was on the North Pool Island displaying to Lesser Black-backed Gulls. There was another individual there on Friday the 22nd but this was a different bird again (it had some faint winter head streaking)

Sheepway Lane, Shipway Farm horse paddock - 20+ Redwing.

Along the footpath leading from Sheepway Lane (at the back of Elm Tree Close) - 12 Siskin, 1 Chiffchaff and 1 Blackcap. 4 Raven and 3 Buzzards in the air at the same time over the nearby Portbury Dock car parks.

Drove Rhine - 1 Kingfisher
Clevedon:
Alexandra Road -the Black Redstart fly-catching from trees. Also reported from its usual site at the pier.

Clevedon-Yeo:
9 Canada Goose, 90+ Shelduck (30 on Dowlais with some display), Wigeon present, Teal present, 6 Goosander(1m , 5f, off Clevedon Yeo) 4 Little Egret, 2 Coot, 15 Oystercatcher, 21 Lapwing (all Dowlais), 1Grey Plover, 140+ Curlew, 8 Turnstone, 700 Dunlin, 1 Jack Snipe  (Blake's Pool), 2 Snipe, 150+ Redshank,  2 Chiffchaff 75+ Meadow Pipit ( quite a lot spread along the route)

CVRS:
A wander around the hedgerows at CVRS this morning revealed a couple of pairs of Long-tailed Tits starting their nests. The nest seen was about a quarter built. T'other is deep within bramble so this will wait for a more thorough search to see if it is recordable for NRS
