27-08-20 Thursday - Grasshopper Warbler

A day of two halves:  early drizzle turned into torrential rain, then cleared to a cool, pleasant late afternoon with a light NE wind.  Felt very autumnal.

Oldbury Power Station:
1 Kingfisher, c.15 Chiffchaff, c.20 Blackcap, 1 Garden Warbler, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Whitethroat, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Redstart, 2  Yellow Wagtail, Pied Wagtail.

Littleton, Whale Wharf:
2 dead Gannets.
7 Whimbrel, 50 Curlew, 4 Little Egret, 4 Wheatear.
Swallows and Sand Martins hawking for insects underneath trees.

Chipping Sodbury Common:
(7.30-10 a.m.) 2 Raven, 11 Chiffchaff, Grasshopper Warbler, 8 Blackcap, 7 Lesser Whitethroat, Whitethroat, 5 Redstart, 4 Whinchat, 2 Wheatear, 18 Yellow WagtailTree Pipit.
