The Downs:
1 Raven - unusually confiding, walked to within six feet of me vocalising continuously (a very varied series of gurgles and chuckles). It flew off when someone walked close to us and thus didn't appear injured, 3 House Martin - fraging over that area.

Stoke Park:
First vismig of autumn - 1 Meadow Pipit, 5 Siskin - heading South.

Cam Valley:
2 Sparrowhawk (f ad), 1 Wheatear (m juv) - a first, Zoom in and spot the few moulted coverts
Steady passage of Blackcap, Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff for the last three days.
Very few Blackbirds around – where have they gone for their summer hols?
Plenty of Greenfinch and Goldfinch for the last two weeks – mixed flocks of 50 or so at any one time. Greenfinch are a healthy mix of juvs of different ages and a few adults

Chew Magna - garden:
