1 Raven - unusually confiding, walked to within six feet of me vocalising continuously (a very varied series of gurgles and chuckles). It flew off when someone walked close to us and thus didn't appear injured, 3 House Martin - fraging over that area. Stoke Park:

Very few Blackbirds around – where have they gone for their summer hols?
Plenty of Greenfinch and Goldfinch for the last two weeks – mixed flocks of 50 or so at any one time. Greenfinch are a healthy mix of juvs of different ages and a few adults
