16-6-19 Fighting Magpies in Banwell (John Thorogood)

Fighting Magpies
A huge kerfuffle outside this morning turned out to be a fierce tussle between two magpies, locking beaks and claws and rolling around on the ground while two others (one out of picture) stood and watched. At one point the two protagonists lay quite still before it all kicked off again. Quite extraordinary.

The Seven Acre woodland at the top of Pennyquick, Newton St Loe, has been cleared. The pictures show bare ground where once stood a wood, they seem to have left the outer edge hiding the decimation
