Sightings 20/1/16

Crox Bottom (Bishopsworth, Bristol):
Crox Bottom is Nick Cryer's local patch and has recently come onto the Avon Birds radar since he has been sending in regular reports to us.
Crox Bottom is a Site of Nature Conservation (SNCI) located in the South of Bristol close to the Hartcliffe, Headley Park and Bishopsworth and as such is protected as an important area for wildlife and geology.
Access is  from Hengrove Way to the South and Hartcliffe Way to the North.  The patch consists of a wooded stream valley, two ponds with areas of woodland scrub, hay meadow and amenity grassland.

70+ species of bird species of note have been recorded.  Kingfisher, Grey Wagtail and Song Thrush are regularly seen and last year (2015),  Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Grey Wagtail fledglings were observed along with Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long Tailed Tit and Robin.
