Newton St Loe:
11 Goosander, 2 Buzzard, 6 Common Gull, 2 Kingfisher, 1 Skylark, 1 Chiffchaff, 30 Redwing, 1 Stonechat.
Backwell Lake:
Little Egret: 19 birds into roost by 5.15pm, a new lake record (Mike Thomas). Afterwards, Mike went to the pub to celebrate and on his return to the lake after closing time, there were another 57 birds....
Other stuff, 17 Mute Swan, 13 Canada Goose, 5 Shoveler, 3 Pochard, 1 Grey Heron, 150 BH Gull, 3 Common Gull, 5 Goldfinch.
Blagdon Lake:
3 Black-necked Grebe (Wood Bay).
Planet Chew:
1 Greylag Goose, 12 Barnacle Goose, 21 Shelduck, 2 Scaup, 12 Goldeneye, 2 Buzzard, 20 Lapwing, 2 Green Sandpiper, 2 Coal Tit, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 16 Long-tailed Tit, 6 House Sparrow, 2 Bullfinch.
Gull roost: 1 adult Mediterranean Gull this evening.
Nunnery: Pike fishing is on so you can drive up to the car park until 7 Feb. Then again, 15-21 Feb.
Trout fishing starts 17 March when everything will be open.
The lake is full with water flowing over the overspill at the dam. Pike fishing season started today so quite a bit of boat activity.
