Sightings 8/2/16

8/2/16 Little Gull & BH Gull (Dan White)
off Severn Beach today, nice size comparison by Dan
Exceptionally strong winds in the estuary today from Storm Imogen producing a few seabirds. Of particular note, a winter Storm Petrel at Oldbury (most of our winter Petrels tend to be Leach's).


Eastville Park (Bristol):
1 Stock Dove, 12 Goldcrest, 1 Firecrest again, 30 Long-tailed Tit, 2 Siskin.

Oldbury Power Station:
1 Storm Petrel, 1 Great Skua, 2 Kittiwake (late afternoon, Pete Hazelwood).

New Passage-Northwick:
8 Mute Swan, 1 Greylag Goose, 15 Shelduck, 12 Gadwall, 30 Shoveler.

Severn Beach:
Seabird sightings in morning and afternoon: 1 Common Scoter, 1 Fulmar, 4+ Great Skua, 400 Dunlin, 60+ Kittiwake, 2 Little Gull.

Newton St Loe:
12 Teal, 4 Goosander, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 4 Coal Tit, 1 Chiffchaff, 2 Bullfinch.

Blagdon Lake:
3 Black-necked Grebe (Wood Bay).

Planet Chew:
Heron's Green: 1 Red-breasted Goose, 19 Little Egret in the cow-field.
