30/4/16 Common Sandpiper at Planet Chew (Ian Stapp)
very good numbers of these birds at the main lakes over the past few days, much fewer at the coastal sites though

Stoke Park (Bristol):
Duchess Pond: 1 Great Crested Grebe still, 1 Common Sandpiper, 5 Swift, 9 Whitethroat, 2 Spotted Flycatcher.

Stockwood (Bristol):
Bifield Rd: 2 singing Skylark.
Open Space: 1 Green Woodpecker, 6 Swallow, 7 Chiffchaff, 18 Blackcap, 3 Whitethroat, 3 Song Thrush, 1 Mistle Thrush.

Marshfield:
Northfield Lane: 1 fly-through Hobby 5pm.

Siston:
Common: 2 Green Woodpecker.

Westerleigh:
1 flyover Little Egret this afternoon.

Shepperdine:
30 Ringed Plover, 70 Dunlin, 2 Whimbrel, 1 Turnstone.

Oldbury Power Station:
Lagoon 2: 1 Short-eared Owl, 1 Wood Warbler.
Another or same Short-eared Owl also seen at Lagoon 3 this morning.
Other stuff, 1 Garden Warbler.

Northwick:
Old Landfill: 12 Whimbrel.

Shore & wetland: 2 Goosander (pair), 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Buzzard, 1 Water Rail, 6 Little Ringed Plover, 7 Ringed Plover, 102 Dunlin, 22 Whimbrel, 3 Curlew, 3 Common Sandpiper, 1 Redshank, 1 Swift, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Garden Warbler, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Mistle Thrush with food, 1 Wheatear, 3 Yellow Wagtail, 3 White Wagtail, 3 flyover Siskin.

Severn Beach:
35 Ringed Plover, 20 Dunlin, 3 Whimbrel, 1 Cetti's Warbler.

Weston Moor:
3 Swift, 3 Cetti's Warbler, 2 Redstart, 1 Tree Pipit.

Wain's Hill: 6 House Martin, 6 Siskin of note.

Sand Pt:
1 Great Skua up, 10 Whimbrel, 20 Commic Tern, 1 Cuckoo, 1 Swift, 1 Sand Martin, 100 Swallow, 1 House Martin, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Siskin, 2 Redpoll.

Banwell:
Winthill: 3 juvenile Blackbird not long fledged.

Felton:
Common: 1 Goldcrest, 3 Skylark, 4 Swallow, 4 House Martin, 6 Chiffchaff, 6 Willow Warbler, 5 Blackcap, 4 Whitethroat, 1 Song Thrush, 2 Stonechat, 15 Linnet, 6 Yellowhammer.

Barrow Tanks:
29 Common Sandpiper, most on No.3.

Freshford:
River Avon: 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Dipper.

Blagdon Lake:
23 Canada Goose, 2 Egyptian Goose, 5 Hobby, 8 Common Sandpiper.

Chew Stoke:
1 newly fledged Grey Wagtail.

Planet Chew:
2 Canada Goose broods, 8 Shelduck, 1 Kestrel, 10 Common Sandpiper, 2 Herring Gull (1 sitting on nest), 2 Jay, 3 Raven, 5 Cetti's Warbler, 2 Long-tailed Tit, 14 Chiffchaff, 9 Blackcap, 1 Garden Warbler, 4 Whitethroat, 7 House Sparrow, 4 Reed Bunting.
